India has announced their team for the September 19 Test match, the opener of a two-match Test series against Bangladesh. Indian wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant has been selected to the 16-man roster. Pant is playing red-ball cricket for the first time since December 2022. Chennai will host the first Test match.
Yash Dayal, an uncapped player, has also been added to the squad. Additional players that have been featured are Akash Deep, Axar, Sarfaraz Khan, and KL Rahul. It seems that Shreyas Iyer was not chosen. Mohammed Shami is still recuperating from foot surgery, so Mohammed Siraj and Jasprit Bumrah will spearhead India’s pace attack.
